Deputy Director of MOST High-Tech Department Visits SUPCON CSP Plant

July 10, a 3-people delegation led by Xu Chaoqian, Deputy Director of Ministry of Science and Technology High-Tech Development and Industrialization Department (hereafter MOST High-Tech Dept.), accompanied by leaders from the Science Technology Department of Qinghai Province, paid a visit to the site of SUPCON Delingha 50 MW CSP (concentrating solar power) tower plant.

Huang Wenjun, Vice President of Zhejiang SUPCON Solar Technology Co., Ltd., (hereafter SUPCON Solar) and Liu Wenchuang, Deputy General Manager of SUPCON Solar (Qinghai) Company, extended a warm welcome to the guests.

After the site visiting, the guests went to the meeting room and received a detailed introduction of SUPCON’s R&D of CSP technology, equipment manufacturing, promotion of industrialization, and operating conditions of the SUPCON CSP plant.

Xu highly appreciated the technical achievements of SUPCON CSP Plant. He said that the project could optimize the overall energy structure and promote further conversion of resources, which fully meet the Green Industry Construction Planning of China’s ‘13th Five-Year Plan’. He hopes that SUPCON would take its role as a model enterprise to help promote the development of China’s CSP industry.

SUPCON Delingha 50MW CSP tower plant is China’s first commercial operating CSP plant. It is based on the research and industrialization promotion of CSP technology, aiming to provide reliable and low-cost green clean energy for human society.

In this project, SUPCON takes its role as the investor, designer, contractor and operator to help boost a sustainable energy-acquiring mode for the long-term survival of human beings. Every year, the plant can generate 121 million KWh electricity, reduce 600 tons of sulfur dioxide emission and 110,000 tons of CO2 emission, and save 42,400 tons of standard coal.
