Feb. 13-15, the 2nd GDA International Downstream Conference & Exhibition was held at Exhibition World Bahrain in the Kingdom of Bahrain. As the leading Middle East strategic platform for international downstream professionals to address global business challenges, share best practices and unlock potential opportunities through collaboration and partnerships, the three-day event featured the regular exhibition component, as well as a wide range of strategic and technical panel discussions and workshops on a variety of topics. Major oil companies in the Gulf region, such as Saudi Aramco, BAPCO, KNPC, ADNOC, and many other enterprises were all exhibitors. SUPCON was invited to attend the event and participate in the strategic session.

George Cui Shan, Chairman & CEO of SUPCON, attended the strategic session on the theme of "Technology Transformation". Moderated by Nathan Ergonul (Managing Director of ART Hydroprocessing), the discussion was joined by Mahdi Al-Adel (CEO of Aramco Ventures), George Cui Shan, Abdulla Omar Al Ameri (Vice President of ADNOC Refining) and Evgeny Fedotov (Senior Vice President, Head of EMEA region at AVEVA) for an in-depth communication on technology transformation in the downstream industry.

During the discussion, in view of the challenges faced by the downstream industry today, such as performance improving, profitability increasing, competitiveness maintenance, the changing of customer needs and increasingly strict environmental regulations, combined with the current hot topic ChatGPT that may have a profound impact on the human future, George Cui Shan pointed out that: Technology transformation with automation, digitalization and intelligence as the development path is the only way to meet the challenges for enterprises. For“solving the unsolved problem”, 5T technology  (AT for automation technology, IT for information technology, PT for process technology, OT for operation technology and ET for equipment technology), Plant Operating System + Industrial APP and Intelligent Operation Management & Control system (i-OMC), which integrates APL & SmartEIO were shared by Mr. Cui with the guests and the audience, to display the unremitting efforts and best practices by SUPCON in the field of innovative technologies. The views of Mr. Cui were strongly recognized and resonated with the participants, who showed great interest in his innovative ideas, technical concepts and application case share.
