PETRONAS, through its Group Technical Solutions (GTS), Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), and SUPCON Malaysia have successfully completed the project sign-off for a Universal Control System (UCS) and Ethernet-APL initiative. This milestone reflects a shared commitment to advancing industrial connectivity, intelligent control, and future-ready digital operations.
Building a Foundation for Joint Innovation
The initiative forms part of a broader collaboration among SUPCON and UTP to advance industrial digitalization and intelligent control through an AI Joint Innovation Centre.
Building on UTP's established research capabilities-including real-time modelling and control systems, Ethernet-APL test rigs, and integrated sensor-to-control validation platforms, the project created a practical environment for collaborative testing and technology validation.
A Collaborative Approach
Throughout the project, specialists from PETRONAS, UTP, and SUPCON Malaysia worked closely to align the system architecture, integration methodology, testing procedures, and application readiness.
