Dec 22, the 1Mt/a CCR (Continuous Catalytic Reforming) unit of CNOOC (China National Offshore Oil Corporation) Taizhou Petrochemical Project went into operation. According to the evaluation of the user, SUPCON CCS (Compressor Control System) Solution helped to realize full control automation, improve process stability, and save energy consumption worth 1.5 million USD.
The CCR unit adopts large scale counter-current moving bed. The control of its key equipment, hydrogen compressors, is especially complicated. Both of the hydrogen compressors are turbine engine compressors with tandem compressing processes. Moreover, three compressor surge cyclic flows occur during the operation, which makes the control even more complicated.
